Hi all, Just looking at placement of the coil in my HE. Now if I mount it horizontally i.e. "/////////" I'll get more coil submerged for less water and therefore would be more efficient, I think. Is this the way to go??? or should I mount it traditionally in the vertically? Thanks in...

Started last night by making the coil, will finish tonight hopefully :-) Considering putting the coil in horizontally so I use less water for heat exhangement. Any known downsides? Work in progress:

Now your confusing me. So when I set my HERMS up do I set the PSB value on the HE PID to reflect the temp of the mash probe reading? or do I start the clock when they have equalized? cheers, John

One thing to note on this build. I went for a 40A SSR even though i'm going to be running 10A max. Result = after 2.5 hours testing, including AT session. The SSR is not hot, it's barely warm :thumb:
