    Batch priming

If it's any help, I find that if you are pouring your sugar solution into your fv, when I do so I place the syphon end at the base/bottom of the fv to ensure that all the sugar is dispersed as the beer dilutes this merrily throughout the volume. :thumb:

    Krombacher Pils clone

Hi, I had a pint in "the temple" - an old toilet turned pub in manchester - small but has to be experienced; cool and weird at the same time. Had a glass of Krombacher pils, and I've had memories ever since. Has anyone got a clue how to get a close AG likeness to this? :wha:

    Primary or secondary dump!

Is this the trub and all that you have in the pet or the end product of ditching the liquid twice until onoly yeast sediment is present? Also could you enlighten me towards how long this would keep in the fridge? Cheers.

    Primary or secondary dump!

hi, Could anyone enlighten me about when to dump a yeast cake upon the next batch of beer - off a primary which is being racked or off the sediment of the secondary? Many thanks, Cwrw :wha:

    Cereal anyone?

Point taken, but isn't mashing a sort of cooking process in itself :hmm:. I'm just wondering if 8% of flakes would really be that overpowering in spoiling flavour. P.S aiming for a Stella type lager.

    Cereal anyone?

CHEERS for the answers guys - I guess I'll save the flakes for breakfast

    Cereal anyone?

Here's a stupid proposition - If my grain supplier has not got flaked corn, is it beyond stupidity to use a box of corn flakes (500g) in the mash instead of parhaps the flaked rice which he stocks at a rather hefty price?

    Highest temperatures for emptying boiler

I'd left it for a total of 8 days, which is including transfer from primary to secondary and up to time of bottling. No finnings were used during these stages (with only the use of protofloc at the last 15 minutes of boil). Usually I've had no difficulty as such :wha: Storing temperatures have...

    Highest temperatures for emptying boiler

    Highest temperatures for emptying boiler

I've had two last beers that have been plagued by hot break material - white clouds at the bottom of my bottles. I have been emptying my boiler earlier of late as I wanted to get a better start temperature for the yeasties. I had thought the unwanted material had come from inefficient protofloc...

    Stella clone

Now I do feel a bit better and will go for a combination of the recipe and an element of stepped temperature control during the mash (by adding hotter water middway which seemed to work well with a vienna I made last year) - well appreciated. Thanks to you all  :D

    Storing beer

Oh well...thanks for the uptake...I guess I'll have to store my yogurt and milk outside with the wife :wha:

    Storing beer

Hi, I'm running out of space, particularly within the lagering end of my projects as I store all bottles upright. If I lager and store with bottles upon their sides, will the yeast escape earlier (as it would have taken residence upon the side of the bottle)when I pour and spoil a clear beer as...

Thanks for the replies. I guess it does'nt sound good for this clone - however, Ill think positively and wait a little longer for an alternative and then pack in this venture. :thumb:
