Cheers Guys, I'll wait until the weekend, then check the SG again. I realise I'm being impatient, I've been away from brewing to long and have a want to brew list to get on with!

    Stalled fermentaion on a lager!

Hello, I've had a lager fermenting for 7 days now (the instructions say it should take 4-6) The starting SG was 1038, after 6 days it was 1020! I have kept it at 22 degrees. It is only a cheap kit lager for the significant other (she will drink it as a shandy, hence why it is a cheap kit) Any...

    IPA is still cloudy?

Well the IPA that's in glass bottles has cleared, and tastes fine (i'm hoping it gets a little better with age) The IPA i've got in platic bottles is still cloudy but is clearing slowly. I hope my winter ales don't take as long to clear otherwise it will be spring next year before i drink them.

Is it safe to drink unclear beer.

My IPA is still cloudy (after four weeks in the garage) but it tastes fine, i have 10 litres in PET bottles and there cloudier than the 10 litres that are in glass bottles. I've not had any undue trouble so far and i'm still hopeful that it will clear by next weekend, (my significant others...

    Secondary fermentation

Hello Chaps, I have done four kits (one was a cider so it cleared quickly) and i have done something different each time. On two of them i have transfered the brew into a second FV added the sugar, but then left it in the 2nd FV for a further week before bottling it, it's conditioned ok and...

    santas winter warmer

I'd thought about the Munton's Santa's winter warmer, which my mate (who also does homebrewing) did last year so i wanted to do something different. I might try the Milestones Dasher the flasher, are there any other christmas ales around? Cheers Real Ale Rascal

    How long after racking off?

Hello chaps, My question is this? How long after adding my 3oz of sugar to the racking off FV, do i leave the brew in the said FV. The reason i ask is i want to do a IPA (and most reviews have said the IPA's are a bit of a let down), and i believe i can add an extra HOP bag in to the 2nd FV...
