    Youngs handy airlock?????

yeah but they aren't as cool as the proper traditional glass ones. Space issue is definitely one to consider but I love proper glass airlocks. You can even watch the bubbles build up the pressure before the 'pop' Lovely!!

    Acronyms :(

SWMBO: She Who Must Be Obeyed (there is no male equivalent) I have been wondering about that one for ages, I knew it had to be HI (her indoors :D ) but couldn't work out what it actually stood for. We have all seen 'Good Morning Vietnam' haven't we?

    hello fellow brewers

lucky eddie... bland, rice-based weasel-wee.. Genius, absolutely love it, much politer than my descriptions. Hollow legs, how much of a difference do you think you get with the brew enhancer?? I have bought some spray malt which I was going to mix with sugar (which arguably is the same thing)...

    Crown capper and fizz!

I did look at the table ones, bit of a cheap skate though as you may have guessed. My lever capper looks like it will be the nuts now, have to wait and see how it turns out. I did think less fizzy would be the result. Still cheaper and tastier can't be bad :) Thanks guys!

    Crown capper and fizz!

Hi there I thought I was being smart by getting a cheap hammer type capper and apart from losing two bottles was moderately impressed with the look and all but I found that I was very nervous and couldn't whack the bottle clean and hard enough to get the cap on in one. It seemed to knock the...

    Hello Everyone

Hey William, I got all my stuff from freecycle, from Fermenting vessels (big 25 litre bucket with a lid) to demi johns to bottles and crates. failing that (if you are just going to do kits, like I have) you can do a lot worse than getting a all in one kit, they are available from plenty of...

    Hello All

Hey there Heggsy Good on you fella, good luck with it all. Fine work indeed. One of the best things I would suggest apart from this fine forum is 'first steps in wine making' by c.j.j. Berry You can get it in all manner of places and it is the business when it comes to wines. Good luck with...

    hello fellow brewers

I am a bit of a newbie myself but in all honesty I have only done the single can lager kits (not including wine) and I haven't had one fail. Plus they are cheap enough that if you do bugger it slightly it won't be vastly painful. I am yet to try the two can kits, are they really that much...
