    Milestone Black Pearl Review

A couple of weeks on Chaps and here is an update. As you can see from the pic it has a good head on pouring which doesn't last to the bottom of the glass, unless you down it in one of course. The bitterness has mellowed a touch and the liquorice aftertaste has dropped back but is still there...

    Bottles

That's not very sporting, after all you are sparing them the effort of depositing one by one. Maybe you should try a different one, mine was buried in bottles thought the box had been pilfered.

Doesn't it tell you in the instructions how much to use?

    Bottles

For free Bottles Squire, place a box next to your local bottle bank with a note saying the type of bottles you need, leave it a couple of days and let the Great British public do their magic and Hey presto you will have loads!

    Better brew Czech Pilsner

Well Chaps, have a few kits under my belt now and have done them all more or less by the book, so I thought i would do a little tweaking with this kit. My ingredients are 1 Better Brew Czech Pilsner kit, 942g of LME ( would have been a kilo but primed my Golden Ale with it and nicked some to try...

I recently made the Milestone Black pearl stout that kicked off on a Thursday and was all but done by Monday but left it longer to be sure, could be the same yeast? Quite fancy doing this kit.

    Wilkinsons Golden Ale

Either you have been robbed or i have, I paid £16 and got a two can kit! Milestone Black Pearl Review

Brew No. 4 for me, I bought this two can kit as I had read a few good reviews on it and the packaging caught my eye as well. This is the first Stout kit I have done so afraid I don't have anything to compare it against other than the odd Guinness and Murphys from cans. I brewed it short to 21Lt...

    Wilkinsons Golden Ale

Happened to be passing Wilkinson's on Sunday, remembered the good reviews for their home brews, so fought my way through the Lambert and Butler clutching horde to purchase my very own - 'Wilco Golden Ale' for the princely sum of £16!. Have just made it now, sg 1043 and i have brewed short to...

    Brewferm 'Grand Cru' Review

Just bottled mine yesterday, I did a double up so have 18 litres now as I didn't have a small FV- well it was a good enough excuse! I worked it out at 7.8% so quite strong, bottled it in small bottles and hoping it does finish up like Leffe Blonde. Just to encourage the Leffe blonde taste I am...

How do you find cheap bottles?

My remedy to a bottle shortage was to let the great British public do the work for me. As the local council has decided to quietly stop collecting the bottles (bless them thinking we wouldn't notice) The local bottle bins are busier than ever, so i placed my own little container next to the...

How do you find cheap bottles?

Why not call on friends and buy their empty bottles for the 10c deposit, saves them the trip to the shop and gets you a shed load of cheap bottles (assuming you have lots of friends of course).

    Best bottles

I ran out of bottles, so I put a box at the side of the local bottle bank with a note on saying I needed bottles for home brewing and got loads. I bought a bottle brush and gave them a really good clean and got rid of any suspect looking ones, most labels come off quite easy, Timothy Taylor...
