    Bottles

Let your family and friends know you are after brown beer bottles and you can end up with a flow of bottles, eventually you end up with a stock of clean glass bottles that you can reuse. Failing that leave an empty box at your local bottle bank for a day or so (Saturday/Sunday best days) with a...

    Bottle circulation?

At a recent peak I had nearly 400 bottles, 75% 500ml and 25% 330ml but had to have a rest from brewing as i was running out of space. It gave me a chance to catch up as i'm not a quantity drinker, I have about 70 left at the moment and need to get out of the habit of sending people away with an...

    Brewferm Grand Cru

If this is your first brew i would get another FV and put a brew of something quicker on and leave the Grand Cru to mature. :hat:

    Brewferm Grand Cru

Hi Archie, I let my Grand Cru ferment out and then syphoned to a second FV and let it stand for 2 weeks before i bottled it, I then transferred to another FV with my dissolved priming sugar, gave it a gentle stir then bottled it. I think the instructions recommend this approach if memory serves...

What's your favourite kit you have brewed?

Well I wouldn't like to say I have a favourite kit as it would be all down hill from here but some of the ones that have stood out are Wilko Golden ale + beer enhancer and Milestone Black pearl Irish stout. Ask me this in a years time and you will probably get a completely different answer :hat:

Fish tank heater directly in fv.....pros and cons?

I have a tall plastic box bought from Superdrug that doesn't take up that much more space than the FV. The heater and box totalled under £20 and seen as you have a larger family Boost i'm sure you may have a spare single duvet to wrap around to insulate, works a treat mine stays bang on...

I've got the Bulldog Rajas reward IPA lined up to compare and also the Festival stag summer ale which looks a similar kit with one less packet of hops to add, be interesting to see the difference. :hat:

    Re: Festival Razorback IPA Review

That's a real shame GS, mine was very grapefruity to start with but that has dropped back to grapefruity which is allowing other flavours to come through. It has a slight bitterness but nothing out of the ordinary. :hat:

    Screw Top Whisky Bottles

I would be old chap, wouldn't he be better popping off to the local supermarket and buying some cheap own brand pop for the bottles, bottles at the side of the road could be full of 'Yellow lemonade!!' and no amount of sanitizing would convince me! :hat: P.S I'm another for the DON'T use screw...

    Re: Festival Razorback IPA Review

Stick with it Gav, the fruitiness does drop back i made mine in July and now it is a really good beer, although i did bottle all mine. One thing about this beer is the sediment is very easy to disturb making it cloudy. As for yours been flat :wha: mine fair climbs out of the glass I thought it...

    Wilkinsons real ale kit.

Well chaps after 5 days of activity in the airlock region all seems to have gone quiet, so i thought i would give it a test and it's down to 1014 from 1042 which is exactly the FG it states on the packaging, by my reckoning it should be 4% i had a quick taste and i know it is early days but it...

    Wilkinsons real ale kit.

Had this hanging around for a while so thought i would bob it on, I have a wherry waiting in the wings as well and the wording on the boxes for the instructions is virtually identical - a wherry in disguise me thinks! :hmm: How much priming sugar did you chaps use? :hat:

    Brewferm Tarwebier Review

Well i quite fancied using the Mangrove jack M20 bavarian wheat yeast i suppose it will change it but i hope it will give it that banana and clove flavour. :hat: That's the great thing about making your own you can experiment til your hearts content!

    Brewferm Tarwebier Review

I've done this kit twice now, the second time i dry hopped with cascade to see what happened and after what i thought was a disaster it turned out really well. Thinking about doing it again this time swapping the yeast for a bavarian wheat yeast to see what i get! :hat: The more you do the...

Oh dear my first brew has gone wrong

It says on the box ready in 21 days, so it may be cutting it fine but it is a cracking pint. It isnt an IPA, I am guessing it is a bit lighter than the Wherry but i haven't tried the Wherry so others on here could probably tell you better. :hat:
