Is this the best thread for this year's hoppiness? My second year bines - WGV, Fuggles and Bramling Cross - are all now out of the ground and wondering whether or not it's warm enough to start tackling the fence!

Haha - great thread. I love experimental kit brewing and I think you're spot on with substituting sugars and adding hops to suite your own tastes. In my experience, kits need a lot more aeration and rousing , and love plenty of time to mature and condition, but they definitely repay any time...

Aha yes, it still had the circular swirl and slight head from the siphon. It's as still as mill pond now, although hopefully with better flavour... Will keg it at the end of the week.

I lost patience with US-05's lethargic glugging and gave the whole thing a good stir about an hour ago. Seems to be responding well. Smelly old stuff (in a good way)
