from what I can tell, the non D version is essentially a voltage variable dial that lets you turn up the power of the heat element. whereas the D version has a control box that lets you direclty input the T deegres.

Hello all. I'm going to buy one of these but not sure if the EB1D is whorthwhile. Is it easy enough to get your temps with the EB1 model? Also, I was thinking of adding one of these screw on mesh filter to screw onto the inside of the tap to help fiter the trub a bit. What you think?

Perhaps a silly question but... I bought a new fermenter bin the other day with a tap. Am I safe to use this tap for taking samples for my trial jar, or would using this introduce oxygen into the beer? I presume I will need to remove the bubbler first or the liquid inside will be sucked in...

Thanks, as far as I understand.. the valve I recently purchased that allows the inroduction of CO2 (via bulbs) allows pressure out as well. The link is in the OP of the lid in question.

Hello all, this is my first post acheers. I am on only my second brew now.. the first was a wort in a can job which tasted.. OK.. but obviously not good enough to give me the brew bug as it that was about 4 years ago!!! A few weeks ago I stumbled on my old brew bin and plastic keg in my shed...
