    from what I can tell, the non D version is essentially a voltage variable dial that lets you turn up the power of the heat element. whereas the D version has a control box that lets you direclty input the T deegres.

    thanks mate. sorry for the stupid question, but what is a bouncer?? I dont suppose you could link me to an example of Amazon? Dont suppose you might recommend one for the pumps? surely a solar one s pretty limited in UK :laugh8:

    Hello all. I'm going to buy one of these but not sure if the EB1D is whorthwhile. Is it easy enough to get your temps with the EB1 model? Also, I was thinking of adding one of these screw on mesh filter to screw onto the inside of the tap to help fiter the trub a bit. What you think?

    Using a fermenter bin with tap/spigot

    Perhaps a silly question but... I bought a new fermenter bin the other day with a tap. Am I safe to use this tap for taking samples for my trial jar, or would using this introduce oxygen into the beer? I presume I will need to remove the bubbler first or the liquid inside will be sucked in...

    Thanks, as far as I understand.. the valve I recently purchased that allows the inroduction of CO2 (via bulbs) allows pressure out as well. The link is in the OP of the lid in question.
