I've stored wine for a year or two in 5lt plastic bottles with no problems at all.

You can mess about to your hearts delight, add a couple of cartons of pure grape juice, add some honey etc but remember to make notes cos if you make a superb wine and forget what you've added you'll be kicking yourself. :-D

I was tempted to buy one of their all malt kits today for £16, instead I bought a Woodforde's all malt kit instead, but next time I go to Wilkos I'll try one of their kits seen as they're made by Muntons :D
