can you maybe use a plate of somesort to minimize the false bottom surface area? just an idea off top of my head

if you think that you are losing temp during the mash then you can try insulating the tun, and to get less haze in the wort maybe you could get a pump and do more recirculating but it could be worth posting a pic of your mash tun grain filter, maybe not fine enough???

am i right in thinking the 3/4 fittings is the wort in/out and 1/2 are water in/out on the plate chillers

thanks aleman. the 30 plate chiller is in my price range the bigger 30 is not. what size brew length do yo think it can handle?

so the 60 plate may not be much better than a 12 plate?

good morning all. I am looking to upgrade to a plate chiller can anyone help me as to what my options are. so far I have been looking at the ones on home brew shops and on ebay. on brew uk they have a 12 plate for £100 but didnt think it would be up to the job as i am doing 200L brew lengths...

i think its an important piece of kit for a home brewer and they dont cost the earth i would be more inclined to just get another.
