    First ever wine kit!

I bottled this last night, and it is pretty smooth , but will certainly benefit from keeping. I will take the advice to brew the next one short. One question though. If I brew the next kit to 20 litre instead of 23, do I use less sugar? These kits require 3.5 kg of sugar when full brewed.

    First ever wine kit!

Right then. Just fermented a Wilko Spicy Cab Sav,cleared and racked. Stirred it to clear the CO2.My Wife and me are rather impressed at it's initial smoothness! The only downside is the lack of body, is there any way to remedy this? Or should I just not prat about with it?

    Geordie Yorkshire Bitter Review

Same as you Brewbob. I used to do this one years ago. Did the job! Now ,I have come back to brewing just recently, and a lot of gear and brand names are new. Geordie is still there though. I bought a Bitter kit, just for old-times sake. I shall brew it short(I always used to, but 'short' is a...

    Adding RGJ to finished wine.

So,to recap, add the GJ and Campden tablets. This is a 30 bottle kit. How many Campden tablets would you add? Sorry to sound dopey, but I am back to the brewing game after a ten year gap!

    Adding RGJ to finished wine.

I have used the stabiliser that came with the kit, does it need to be done again? And where do the Campden tablets fit in, please?

    Adding RGJ to finished wine.

I have brewed a Wilko Spicy Cab. It has gone well, I have cleared and racked it. It tastes ok,and will need more time,but... It is VERY dry. I read somewhere here that it is ok to add red grape juice to round it out. I like a dry wine, but this does need slightly tweaking I think. Comments and...

I had a Fiat Stilo. Italian, same company it seems. Same problems. Cost a fortune in 'repairs'. Got rid and bought a Vauxhall. Passed every time !

Who once said British cars are ****??

Good tohear that Landrover owners are happy. My Brother is in the car biz. He reckons the Landy is called Discovery as it takes two weeks to "Discover" it is a fuel-hog and a mechanics dream-always in the garage! But then I never owned one.

    Scratch Restaurant

Good idea. It could work. However... I am a Butchery Manager, and like us, you WILL have to complywith Food Safety Act (Amendment 1991).You will also have to qualify in Basic Food Handling. Also you will have to have a HACCP system in place(hazard analysis and critical control point system),also...

    Grrr supermarkets...

It has to be the higher price for at least 28 days prior to a cut/ BOGOF. LAW. I work in retail BTW. I think it is very cynical of the supermarkets, and everyone knows they do it!
