I think it's almost ready to bottle

Ok, I've gone ahead and bottled tonight. One thing I noticed was that it smelled familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it, then I realised it smelled like apple juice I know the box said lager but there was no label on the wort tin. Could I be brewing cider or has anyone else had lager...

Where you store bottles of beer? 15-16°C is OK or too worm?

Isn't it just lol I'm about to bottle and wonder where to store them. Have no central heating so the most stable place will probably be under the stairs. I have no problem in the cooler temperature for my lager though. Probably cellar or kitchen, both cold places....

I will let you know how it all goes anyway, plus once bottled I have another set ready for my second homebrew (ooh another...

    Ok newbie questions!

I think I need a bottle tree then  I'm still new to all this. I have designed a label but could do with some self-adhesive A4 Paper I can cut myself. Anyone bought these? If so, where from? I too got a colour laser printer so it will look quite good. Beer might not taste as good as it...

I think it's almost ready to bottle

Hi all, 2 weeks today since I started brewing the Youngs brewbuddy lager kit. Not sure if it's the best way to get a sample but I dipped a tube in to take a small sample and when I first put the hydrometer in it was quite high but there were a lot of bubbles rising then it settled down to...

    Ok newbie questions!

I think I will try that this time. Like you said, they are new. I'm also a newbie waiting for my first batch lol. I have tubing and ordered a bottle filler thing. How do you attach the 2 together for syphoning?

    question on temperature

I think it's just going to take time. I was worried because the guide in the kit said to keep it 18-21C but I don't have any central heating or anything to maintain a constant temperature. I have put it under the stairs and it's approx 14-15C and it has been fermenting (and smelling). It has...

    Hi all

Hi Donkeykong, I started my first brew on the same day. I never noticed any bubbles but I'm using a bucket. Felt pressure on the lid, pushed it down and it stayed there until I checked some hours later. Today it has started giving off a smell, so hopefully it's doing it's stuff now, but I've...

Will I win? Just over 48 hours now and It's starting to smell now. The ambient temperature is about 13C. I still need a thermometer to stick on it. I still have plenty to learn lol

Hello from a newbie in Lancashire

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I do believe it's fermenting (not sure how quickly though) as the lid has been pushing up. I pushed it down and checked 12 hours and it's pushing up. Hope that makes sense.
