    Treacle Stout - 17Nov08

Taste-wise I found the last batch very drinkable after about 10 days in the bottle (I really have to learn to be more patient  ). There was absolutely no head and not a great deal of carbonation at that point though. Now (after nearly 2 months) it does have more of a head, and the flavour...

    Market Best Bitter

The mineral additions mean nothing to me, but looks nice otherwise!

    Treacle Stout - 17Nov08

Thanks, all went very smoothly. The only slight cock-up was I noticed as the first runnings were going into the boiler I hadn't put the hop strainer in. Fortunately I spotted that just in time. Anyway it's fermenting away vigourously :thumb:

    Treacle Stout - 17Nov08

Second time round for this one, using my recipe loosely based on Buzz's Chocolate Treacle Stout: Got a different brew buddy today as Ben is seeing his neurosurgeon this afternoon  Anyway so far so good. Mash on at 3:30.

    Virtual Jukebox

OK I'm going to see The Stranglers at Shepherds Bush Empire on Friday so between now and then my posts on this thread will be Stranglers songs. So: The Stranglers - Still Life (struggled a bit to remember that one but a decent track)

    Neil Morrisey Brewing Channel 4

Well, after watching this 'series' I'm not impressed. I think they did make themselves both look tossers, particularly NM. The arrogance when asked last night why they had hiked the prices massively was astonishing. So they said if Tesco don't get enough sales then the beer will be pulled from...

    Choc & Treacle Stout - 06/11/08

The best beer I have brewed so far is my Treacle Stout which was loosely based on your recipe. Have a good one.

    Get well soon Benmcben

Yup, he's got to have an operation upon returning to the UK to sort out disc/vertebrae/sciatic nerve (don't have exact details). Doesn't sound like much fun...

    Smelly Wee?

Mine goes very yellow sometimes after taking B vitamins (riboflavin I think), otherwise, the amount of water/beer I drink ensures it's normally clear as a bell. Only coloured otherwise If I'm dehydrated.
