With all this praise I'll have to give it a go :thumb: If it's not impolite, who is/was Kenny?

New Barley Bottom Website, comments please.

Very nice. The images to the left of the items in the list seem to not all work - maybe if there isn't an image put 'image not available' or something so it doesn't look like the page hasn't loaded up properly. Otherwise very cool. :thumb:

    Brewday: 15/01/09, Ready Steady Pride

Thanks guys. Yeast (S04*1) pitched at 5:35 - that 5 1/2 hours from doughing in - record time! BTW I took about 2l of the first runnings from the mash and reduced them down on the stove to add a bit of caramel character. Fortunately nothing went wrong and I haven't had a shed load of beer...

Oz & James Drink to Britain

My sack of malt came from the Fawcett maltings... That malt they were plodding round in might be the very same stuff as what's in my boiler now!

Grist ration MO/Crystal/Choc 95%/4%/1%, target OG 1.042. Using Target for 90min copper hop about 27 IBU, then Goldings...

02/12/08 - Mild - and the Electrim finally dies...

Thanks, I've read that a mild can be ready fairly swiftly - I have left my other brews in the FV for 11 days or so - would this benefit from that long or would a week be OK (assuming the FG is stable)?

02/12/08 - Mild - and the Electrim finally dies...

This uses up some inventory and hopefully should be nice by Xmas. All was going very smoothly until the dreaded Electrim cutting-out curse returned as I was bringing the wort up to the boil. Took the socket mechanism apart to see what was going on and found 2 problems. One was the thermo cut-out...
