    Football Banter

I hate the ITV coverage, the difference between ITV/BBC coverage and Sky is ridiculous - I can't understand how bad it is! Tyldo did seem to favour Liverpool, and although the game was very watchable, I thought the standard of football was on the whole quite poor - loving the goals though! As...

    Football Banter

Is it wrong that I am so happy that Liverpool lost tonight? Don't support Chelsea or any of Liverpool's rivals really, just dislike Liverpool FC! Get in!

    Good pub in Kent

Hi all just got in from a couple of good pubs in a village called Farningham (near Dartford) First one, the Lion Hotel gave me an enormous and gorgeous fish and chips and a pint of Brains Reverend James for under a tenner Second one, Chequers, had a few beers on like Landlord and ESB - the...

    Easter Weekend

managed to watch a load of sport, get in a cracking sunday roast at the missis' sister's place and off to play crazy golf in a bit - seems fairly productive to me only downside is that due to guests I've been having to sup stella/fosters/p*ss all weekend - hopefully the trip to the pub this...

    Boiler

well, it turns out I can't brew this weekend anyway - ordered bits and bobs from t'internet that haven't arrived in time that I'll need - still very giddy about the first brew though...

    Boiler

I managed to find a 27l Burco Boiler for £50, so decided to go with that rather than build one myself and end up electrocuting myself! Hopefully will arrive tomorrow although I've had to postpone the inaugural brew on Friday as I don't think I'll be able to bottle it next weekend, nuts.

    Boiler

Hmm, might have a go at it, but I'm a bit cack handed - will cost it up for the parts and see if I can't get a boiler a bit cheaper ready made somewhere Cheers fellas

    Boiler

Morning all, Just putting my kit together and the next piece is the boiler. Initially, we were going to just use a big stock pot and fire it on the stove, but I've recently been thinking that maybe getting a cheap water boiler (like a burco one) would be the way to do it with less mess and...

just about! tested the home-made mashtun with water and all seems good so far - no leaks from the botched tap or anything! now just to find a decent sized stock pot and order the rest of the stuff we need to come for Friday morning!

    Mash tun making

Not entirely sure how to be honest, I'm not usually that cack-handed! Just sorting out getting the rest of our kit now so we can hopefully brew this weekend - getting pretty giddy and need to find a recipe to emulate for our first crack!

    Mash tun making

Evening all, I've just spent the afternoon with my mate crafting our Mash Tun out of an asda coolbox and other bits and pieces - hopefully all has gone well, except I managed to massively f off the missis - managed to break a present her best mate brought back from Hong Kong, then break the...

    New to brewing...

I look forward to cocking it up! Another naive question - we're pricing kit up and are starting to see the cost rack up - what do people recommend post fementation - bottling or kegging (or cornie-ing)?

    New to brewing...

Cheers fellas, Didn't mention the H&G kit to the guy at the LHBS, but he still tried to push me the kit way. I've my heart set on doing it 'properly' so AG it is! Had a look at bits and bobs to make my own Mash Tun yesterday and realised that it would be easier to just get the H&G kit than to...
