My first brew was Nelsons Revenge,and I can highly recommend it,drinking it now :party: Bottles is better than keg,no doubt about it :thumb:

I've only produced 2 brews so far,one bottled and one in a keg,and the bottled stuff is noticeably better....and also a lot clearer for some reason :wha:

Being new to the game,I haven't paid too much attention to SG issues yet ( cue wise old sages sorrowfully shaking their heads :grin: ). Following advice on here,I left it in the fv for two weeks,SG was in the green band (ish),so bottled it,and achieved the outcome in my OP :clap: As I said...

I've just kegged Admirals Reserve today,and the "syphon mouthfull" seemed quite nice :lol: I've got reservations about the Wherry due to the amount of 'sticking' reported on here :hmm: NR and AR have both been totally problem free,even to a novice like me :grin:

I've just sampled my first bottle of my first brew,it's only been in the bottle for ten days,but I was just curious :lol: I must admit I'm over the moon with the early results...admittedly it was a tad flat,but the aroma and taste are comparable with the commercial stuff :clap: I just hope...

That's where I bought the kit from actually :lol: the mead does look a bit "thin" to be honest,so I'll try honey as you suggest..not worth spoiling the ship for a ha'porth of tar :grin:

I've just finished fermenting a mead kit that I got from from my LHBS.Their instructions suggest that if it requires sweetening (which it does),you can add sugar,concentrated grape juice,or honey. Any suggestions or advice please...and where do you obtain concentrated grape juice from ? Ta :thumb:

Due to the wildly fluctuating temps in my brewery (aka kitchen aka Ice Station Zebra :lol: )...I intend to use aquarium heaters in my fv. Can anyone suggest a supplier of the air lock grommets required ?..the only ones I could find wanted £2.50 postage for a 50p grommet :o Also,what is the...

I'd seen mention on here before about avoiding Wychwood bottles,so I left them alone,pity really,as Hobgblin is one of my favourites :( BTW Moley,I visited the stall on Blackheath market that you mentioned,and I must say,his prices are a really competitive :thumb:

I've recently started my first brew,and I've had to look at the best way of procuring some decent bottles ( my local boozer is not an option BTW :whistle: ). With new bottles costing around 55/60p each,I decided to buy bottled beer,thus killing 2 birds with one stone :hmm: I trawled the shops...

Just started my first kit (Nelsons Revenge)...fermentation just starting to slow after 3 days.On reading through some of the posts on here,quite a few advise transferring the the brew to another fv after about a week,and leaving it there for another week before bottling. Does the 18-22 temp...
