    Dry Hops - Filtering?

Improvising is one of the joys of our “Hobby”? I bought a new pair of shoes a while back and each shoe came in a fine mesh bag, they make terrific filters for dry hopping and secured at the end of the tube from your brew kettle it can result in a gunk free fermenter (if that’s what you want of...

How to print bottle cap labels.

I'm getting on fine with the printing etc but peeling the lables from the backing was driving me daft so I've started printing on regular paper (as suggested card is better) and then a tiny dab of Pritt stick onto the cap, place the cut out on top and Bob's your uncle job done. If your not too...

So who's growing chillies this year?

Totally agree with IanM, they need a long growing season! I managed to get a small crop last year from three plants and it was one of the best years for a while. I started the ones in the pic under a grow light in January thinking I would be way ahead of the game by now, but as you can see they...

Terrible news about Notre Dame in Paris

Just back from a long weekend in Paris, luckily my wife and I paid a visit to Note Damme on Saturday. We were enjoying a well earned libation on Monday evening (see pic) when the tragedy unfolded. On a more serious note, anyone got a recipe for a Grande Paris IPA.(see pic). I know stuff seems to...

    ALL Grain

Hi Sky Blue, I like the look of your recipe I'll give it a go soonest. I was actually on the forum looking for a Life and Death clone but your brew should keep me busy until one appears for a serious comparison test. Merry Xmas

    Head Retention

Thanks Terrym, I'm pretty sure the glasses are OK but I'll give the rinse thing a whirl and see what happens. The Wheat addition seems like the direction I'm headed. Cheer!

    Head Retention

Thanks for that Ghillie. I'm using a bud schooner for this type of brew, I have a few and pretty much rotate their use, they go through the dishwasher so I'll look into that possibility and give the Carapils a body swerve next time and see what happens. The brew was bottled 19/10/18, and...

    Head Retention

Hi Guys I moved from extract to BIAB about 6 months ago and have been experimenting with different styles and variations to suit my taste and have recently tried dry hopping. The results have been very good so far, but I suspect head retention has suffered a bit more than I would prefer. I'm...

Buying a fridge to house keg/fermenter

Hi there! I find using a full SS brewbucket a little awkward when putting in or removing from the fridge interior (because of the rubber feet) so I use a perforated platform on castors to wheel it in and out of the fridge onto a raised piece of board. Hope this is useful.
