Late hops, dry hopping & hop tea - whats the difference?

Thanks for your reply and I'm of the same opinion as you. Hop tea and dry hopping are my preferred way of adding post boil hops. I was just wondering if each method influenced the end taste differently.

Late hops, dry hopping & hop tea - whats the difference?

In my brewing I have used recipes that call for different methods of adding hops after the boil. For example late hops to be added to the boil after its cooled to below 70C, adding a hop tea (which I suppose is just another way of steeping hops) and lastly dry hopping. My question is would these...

    Ferminator Launch at Geterbrewed

I'm a bit confused by this product. Apart from the fan I don't see any heating or cooling elements so I'm not sure how it works. Is there anymore information?

    Brewuk....online shop

I have been using Brew UK since 2015 for things my local Home Brew shop doesn't stock. Apart from a delay due to Covid in April, they have always been prompt delivering my orders. Helpful when I've had a question too. Admittedly, I don't think April and May were their best months for customer...

Problems I faced with my first AG brew:

Hello Adrian. Its good of you to post your experiences as everyone has to go through the learning curve. With regards to cooling the wart have you considered using a steriliserad 10 litre plastic jerrycan? You can pour the how wart into the jerrycan and let it coo down naturally over night...

    Bench Capper

I had problems with some bottles the had contained a Shepherd Neame brew for Sainsburys. A Cornish ale I think but anyway, I could not get a standard cap to close properly on it.

Substance on bottom of beer bottle

Everything is fine! What you see on the bottom of the bottle is likely to be the yeast as it settles to the bottom after doing its job on the priming sugar. Shaking the bottle isn't a good idea if you want a nice clear pint. Keep them upright and move them somewhere cool for a couple of weeks.

Durden Park - Old British Beers

I have a copy of the Durden Park pamphlet after someone sent me a bottle of the Reading Bitter they brewed from it. I have brewed the Whitbread London Porter 1850 a few times now and it really excellent. Be warned though, as it needs at least 6 months to condition. In fact the longer the better...

    Bottling

Plastic water bottles are fine but if the plastic bottles are clear plastic then you may want to store them somewhere dark. There's a reason most beer bottles are brown, its to protect the ale from UV light.

    Greg Hughes recipes

I have the book but have only tried two recipes: Tin Miners Ale - Was not impressed when I tried the first bottle (two weeks conditioning) as it was quite bland. I sort of forgot about it for a couple of months and tried it again and it had changed into a very nice beer. It is now one of my...

    Bench Capper

I had a bottle shatter when I used a hand capper so switched to a bench capper and have never regretted it. Its not the one in the original post, but very similar in all respects. The bolt on the leaver needs tightening every now and then but the only downside is that there are some bottles...

    Hello from Colchester

Hello! - I have been an all grain brewer for a few years now although I still do the odd kit brew every now and then. Mostly traditional British style ales (bitters, milds, stouts and porters). I'm currently getting to grips with water treatments as I live in an area with very, very hard water...
