Stainless Steel 3V All Grain set-up for sale

Have decided to move on from the 3v system to a Grainfather, so the equipment is up for sale. Purchased from the Homebrew Builder, the set-up contains 2x 70ltr kettles, each containing 2x 2.5kW elements. These have the dial thermometers fitted, along with the clamped exit / discharge valve...

Home Brew Shop - how far is you?

My LHBS is Glenbrew in Glasgow, about 1.5 mile from my front door. Whenever I'm home on leave, must be in there around 2 or 3 times in the month. The staff are always on hand to impart good brewing knowledge, also for a good chin-wag. I'm always on the hunt for any news regarding the Williams...

    First all grain

Hi Karloz. Congrats on making the leap to AG. I use Beersmith, they seem to have a good, wide range of recipes, AG & Extract. One site I recently signed up to was Brewgr.com, again they have quite a lot of recipes. Happy Brewing :thumb:

    Brewnight: Strawberry and Lime TC

Cracked open the first bottle of this tonight, wow :thumb: Although only one week in the bottle, it has an amazing taste and smell. I can tell that this is going to be a very popular brew. However it is so nice and easy to drink, might lead me into some trouble :drunk:

    Brewnight: Strawberry and Lime TC

Hi Roddy, Thanks for the quick reply. Think I will go down the safe storage route, get them into plastic storage boxes and then into the bath before I head back to work. Still got 10 days leave remaining, so will keep a close eye on them, maybe crack one open after a week.

    Brewnight: Strawberry and Lime TC

Hi guys, Just finished bottling up (48 nice big ones), however I have a question that I hope someone can help me with. At start of fermentation S.G was 1.040, which I believe was the expected value. Unfortunately I never took a F.G, just gave it the full 14 day in the bucket before bottling...

    Doubling Up

Hi all, Been a while since doing extract & AG, took the easy way out and done kits for the past couple of years. However getting the mojo back, and I'm looking at doing an extract Hoegarden clone, the recipe conveniently taken from the Northern Brewer site. It's for a 20ltr brew in the...

    how many pints.....

Hi all, Not posted in a while, but this looked like a good thread to contribute to. At last count there was 120 litres in 500ml brown bottles in my 'beer cupboard'. At the moment it's a mix of all of the Youngs American beer range, think these are some of the best on the market. Working...

New Year-Upgrade to A.G. Boilers and Tuns

Joeyriles, set-up looks good, congrats on getting your first AG brew on. Did you not find that there was an unbelievable amount of condensation on your kitchen walls & ceiling? This was the reason I had to move my brewing kit out onto the front porch, built a small gravity stand from an old bed...

    Punkie IPA

Cheers Clibit, The kit is good, highly recommended, purchased from the resident Homebrewbuilder. Still trying to increase the overall efficiency, the last Punkie batch came out at a SG of 1042, about 10 points too low. I've done this kit 3 times now, the produced ale is very similar to the...

    Punkie IPA

A Punk IPA clone from the good chaps at Malt Miller. Second time I've done this, it really is a fantastic tasting beer, and IMHO not too far off the original; 1. Pale Malt, Maris Otter (5.9 EBC) - 5.00kg 2. Chinook (13.40%) - Boil @ 12min 31.0 IBU 3. Ahtanum (5.30%) - Boil @ 5min 1.9...

    Posting Bottles

Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone has had any experience in sending full bottles through the post. My older brother, who is also an avid brewer, is keen to try some of my own, however the distance between us is somewhat of a problem - Glasgow to Medway. Much appreciated if you could let me...

    Insanity

Happy New Year to all. Joined my latest ship 4 weeks ago, and after spending 10 weeks seriously knocking back the good stuff, needed to get rid of a wee beer belly:wink: Guys onboard suggested I join in with their 'Insanity' work-out, 45-60 mins of high intensity interval training, loads of...

    Bulldog Strawberry Pale Ale

Bottled this kit on the 16th October, had intentionally brewed short to 21ltr and it came out at 4.9% (batch primed with 100g of cane sugar). Sampled a bottle a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised. A nice light red colour, not as dark as a red ale. The strawberry taste is not very...

    bulldog easter brew

Just finished bottling mine up today, managed to get 45 bottles out of this batch. When I opened the fermenter lid there was a fantastic chocolate, roast coffee smell, really nice. However it didn't look as dark as other stouts I've made or even tried in pubs, looks more like a porter. This...

    Robsan77s commercial venture, Totally Brewed!

Good luck in your new brewery. If you venture into the bottling market, might get to taste your fine brew when it hits my local shelves

    Williams Bros.

On a few occasions I've stopped off at the Inn Deep for a pint or three of March of the Penguins, really tasty stout, my favourite. Then before getting the next bus, drop into Valhallas Goat for a perusal and carry oot!! :drink:

    Hello

Hi all All the ships in the company are now dry, have been for the last 4years. The Captain onboard is also an avid brewer, we have discussed the pro's and con's of knocking up some prison hooch using the vast quantities of fruit juice and stealing some of the Chief cook' baking yeast ;)
