    Smelly Fridge

You may also notice slight smells lingering, but they will go after some months. We had a fan oven from my auntie's house years ago, and every time you turned it on, it was like getting a blow back directly in the face. It took some months, but the smell went on it's own. Not sure if a sealed...

    Smart meter [poll]

They don't actually do anything in themselves in terms of saving power - arguably as they need to be plugged in, they actually USE power. But they do give you an appreciation of how much electricity all your appliances use. I was surprised by things I thought would use a lot and didn't, versus...

Is the Meghan Interview with Oprah a big deal in the UK? Is/was Oprah Winfrey a big celeb with you folks?

I'm so bored of all this now, and I don't even have any issues with the Monarchy. What makes me laugh is the pair of them leave Royal Duties and move to the US to escape the view of the public and press, then they do an interview on OPRAH! Well if the U.S didn't know who you were before, they...

    Brewday no.3

I like to do it before so I don't need to add it to the bottles. Too much faff for me :laugh8:

Anyone mad enough to grow their own hops?

I just had no idea if they grow well in the UK, are good enough for homebrewing, yeild enough crops, or if it's just cheaper to buy them ready to use. Seemed like a lot of effort, but seeing you all grow and pick your own has really given me the appetite to try! Thanks all for your encouragement

    Priming 500ml flip top bottles

This is great advice. You can also do rapid testing and do what ye olde farmers used to do and split test. So divide a test batch up and try varying amounts on each and then see which one is best. So you can put slightly more ingredients in each and see which one turns out to your satisfaction...

Anyone mad enough to grow their own hops?

I've just seen another post about growing your own hops and the results look amazing. Definitely going to try that!

Ordered Sanitizer by mistake will it be okay?

If there are no contaminants that get into your kit after it's cleaned and air dry you'll be ok. But bacteria multiply very quickly. That's why in professional kitchens, if something is accidentally left at room temperature for 2 hours, it goes in the bin. I'd clean and then use, unless you're...

Anyone mad enough to grow their own hops?

Ok, thanks for the thoughts. Seems like it'll be more of an experiment than being able to rely on it. Also, I have to successfully grow it first hahaha

    Brewing With Chocolate

Love this, thanks for sharing. There are so many options and approaches. Would be interesting to split test and see which is the tastier approach. Either way, this sounds like something worth a try.

Anyone mad enough to grow their own hops?

Hey folks. I live in the UK and had a crazy idea to grow my own hops for brewing. Has anyone else done this, is it a common thing? I get that it's a lot of effort to DIY, but wondered if the quality might be better? Crazy idea or not?
