One of my main concerns was holding the mash temp. So i was chuffed when i only lost 2c. Regarding the DJs, i filled them to an inch or so below the neck. So plenty of head space.

The alcohol definitely did slow things down. Lesson learnt there. The one thing i was on top of was the cleaning and sanitizing. I took time with all that stuff at the beginning of the brew.

Ive already worked out where to save time. First on the list is to not drink (as much anyway) im going to use the rest of my ingredients and make a 5l batch, so ill put it into practice. Checked the djs this morning and they are both bubbling away every few seconds.

AG #1 Batch 10l 1st I put 6l of water to heat to 75c. During this time i weighed out my grains. 2kg of pale malt and 300g of wheat malt. I then poured them into my brew bag and dunked in 75c water. Stirred until lumps were ko'd. Mash Temp reading was 68c. Covered my pot in a towel and well...

Yeah 10l. I have a few 5l DJs so going to fill 2 of them. I have a 12 litre pot (holds 15l to the brim) from wilko and a bag. Thats pretty much it 😅

Hi all. On sunday i am attempting my first BIAB. A 10l pale malt (2kg) and cascade SMaSH. Trying to keep it simple. Although i also bought 500g of wheat malt. Would anyone suggest throwing some of that in too or just keep it simple for my first attempt. Thanks in advance

Yeah, ill prob do it all tomorrow. I washed and sterilised all my new plastic bottles today and capped them, so will probably be safe. But i wont risk it

So, after 2 days of cold crashing. Tomorrow is bottling day. I am going to prime with white sugar cubes. 1 in each bottle. Can i save time by adding the cubes to the bottles tonight, or shall i just do it all together

Does dry hopping work during the cold crash? I wanted to dry hop again today but also need to cold crash as i only have time to bottle on Wednesday. Thanks

Hi all. I dry hopped an ipa on Thursday, with some cascade in a hop bag. I just cracked the lid and the bag is floating on top, thought it would of sank after a couple of days. Has this been a waste of the hops or will it be ok

Why would you warn against keeping the tub at home? Are they potentially hazardous?
