Hambleton Bard to doscontinue s30 refills

I’ve been using pressure barrels and HB s30 cylinders for many years now and as I live in France it was getting more and more difficult for me to get hold of those canisters (I could only get them during my visits to England in my car or ask my friends to do it for me when they drove to...

    Graham Wheeler, still relevant?

Now that I have the opportunity, I just want to say a few things about Graham Wheeler. I learned how to brew from his timeless book, The Camra Guide to Home Brewing, which was published in 1990. It is still a very relevant book and I still consult it regularly. I must have read that book from...

    Graham Wheeler, still relevant?

I hope you will like it as much as I do. Please let us know what you think once you’ve brewed it, it would be nice to have a fellow homebrewer’s opinion on my favourite beer.

    Graham Wheeler, still relevant?

Sorry, I am in England now, and have been enjoying lots of TT Landlords up here near Keighley, that’s why I’ve not been able to answer earlier:-). I brew the 1998 recipe. I really would recommend it

    Graham Wheeler, still relevant?

It is from Brew Your Own British Real Ale At Home, which was published in 1998 I believe (I don’t have the book handy as I am away on holiday).

    Graham Wheeler, still relevant?

For me Graham Wheeler’s books are the best recipe books. I must have brewed almost all the beers in his books and, as stated earlier, the Landlord recipe is excellent. If I have to choose one, Eldridge Pope Thomas Hardy Country Bitter is my favourite, I’ve brewed it 12 times!

    Has anyone used Chevalier malt?

I made a single malt beer with Chevallier once, with EKG and Styrian goldings (I used the TT Landlord recipe really) with wyeast 1469. It was nice and had a warming sweetness, the colour was a tad darker than the MO I usually use (Warminster). I would like to use this malt more often but I...

Taprite CO2 regulator adapter and inlet pressure

Thank you simon12 and peebee for your replies, very much appreciated! I’ve double checked and can confirm that the bottles definitely contain only CO2. But, just to be on the safe side, I’ve asked my friend to get me a regulator that he uses in his bar. Your message concerning the issue of...

    Hello from France!

I live in Alsace, near Strasbourg. and yes, you are right there are good beers over here. It is also becoming more and more easy to find IPAs etc. in French pubs too. Where I live is also very close to Germany and I like German beers too. But my favourite is and has always been English ales!

Taprite CO2 regulator adapter and inlet pressure

Hello, I’ve had enough of leaking plastic pressure barrels (I’ve been using them for over 20 years) and have decided to use corny kegs from now on and build myself a keezer. I’ve ordered a couple of kegs from England (I live in France), together with the necessary fittings etc. I decided to buy...

    Hello from France!

Hello everybody, I now live in France but I started brewing in the 1990s when I went to university in England. What started as a poor student’s attempt to drink cheap beer quickly became a life-time hobby! I continued brewing in France because when I moved here there were hardly any English ales...
