How to fit taps to Fridge to make kegerator

I think you're thinking of polypins, the polykegs are new PET 30L kegs that operate in the same way as the sankeys. They have a spear and need to be fitted with a sankey coupler but are just made of PET plastic. They are marketed as single use but can be effectively reused for the home brewer...

How to fit taps to Fridge to make kegerator

Thanks for the info Chris, there's a fewscrix near me so I can just take the taps in to check if they fit too! :thumb: I've seen elsewhere that people have cut away the insulation on the inside of the fridge door as the taps weren't long enough, they then made washers out of wood and a hole saw...

How to fit taps to Fridge to make kegerator

Thanks for the response! I managed to negotiate the price to £25 including delivery for the pair which wasn't too bad. I did notice about the locking nuts but I'm sure I'll be able to pick some up quite cheap. Once it's all done I'll upload some pics :thumb:

Help pls on timings for dry hopped pilsner kit with S-23

I made the exact same kit with the exact yeast at those exact temps and I chose to dry hop for 7 days at lagering temps in secondary (during lagering) with 1oz of Saaz. You could definitely get a strong hop aroma but that's what I like. Not your usual expectation from a lager but I thought it...

Starting AG...Need help with some decisions

Thanks guys, most appreciated. Anyone with experience of a gas setup have any input? Don't forget hair straighteners and blow dryers Rob! Also, As mentioned in previous posts my kegs are legit. As callumscott rightfully states make sure if you do intend to go the keg AG route that you obtain...

Starting AG...Need help with some decisions

Hi all, I have 3 Stainless Steel Kegs which I will be starting to use as a HLT, MT and Boiler for my AG setup. I have grinded the tops off the kegs and I am in the process of building a 3 tier gravity fed stand. I plan to insulate the MT obviously but my main decision that I need to make is...

    Relieving pressure from kegs

I have legitimately acquired 2 10 gallon kegs (yes legitimately) to convert for use in an AG setup. All the info online regarding depressurising sanke kegs does not seem to be helpful as out of the 2 I have, one does not have the ball to press to release pressure and the other seems to have some...

    pressure barrel question

Hi matjam, If you plan on drinking the beer in one night it should be fine. You have plenty of time for secondary (recommended 2 weeks in the warm) and also clarification (as long as possible in the cold). By the time of your party your beer should be well carbed and clear, however drinking...

    Secret Santa 2013

LW1 was mine. It was a John Bull lager kit which I fermented with S-23 yeast in the garage taking advantage of the cold weather. As the temps outside dropped it was perfect to leave it in the secondary to lager for a month or so, while it was lagering in the secondary I chucked in an ounce of...

How are you using Campden tablets with kit beers?

What I usually do is set aside a second bucket filled with the cold water I will be using and add half the campden tablet to that. I leave it for an hour or 2 to stand, covered. I'd then get on with the kit and then when it requires you to add the cold water I just tip it straight in the FV to...

    Secret Santa 2013

This is my review for W12 Dry White Wine. I tasted the wine before opening the letter attached as requested by the sender. The wine poured perfectly clearly and had a slightly darker tinge to it. On initial tasting I thought it may be a juice wine as I have made several and it reminded me...

    Secret Santa 2013

This is my review of LW5 Pilsner 4%. I was pleased to receive a Pilsner as i had just brewed one myself so thought it would be great to compare. I was even more pleased when reading the letter attached to find out it was an AG brew as mine was just an adapted kit! The beer poured quite well...

Brewferm 9l Kit in 10l Bucket?

Hi all, I have a bit of a dilemma. I got a Brewferm triple kit for Crimbo off the mrs. and as it's a 9l kit I was wondering what sized bucket to use? I have a 10l bucket which is actually probably just over 11l or a 25l bucket. My dilemma is I hear these kits can foam excessively which would...
