I think it's gone too far for that he screwed himself by basically accusing middle class white women of ganging. up on him then apologising for saying it.

He has not helped himself I think in terms of the BBC he is done but well look at the number of so called celebs who have went to other channels who think the risky of high profile will help viewing figures.

As said its still all unfounded allegations as present

I agree he will probably go elsewhere but he will kick himself for losing his job over this.

The production company has now appointed independent lawyers to investigate the claims.

This may not be a criminal investigation buy will be interesting to see what the outcome is fellow chefs/hosts seem to be distancing themselves, claiming they must remain silent during the investigations.

See what happens next

Lets get this clarified before I say anything I have always considered Gregg Wallace to be a first class round drawer handle type.. But I have to say all these media companies and outlets really need to decide what behavioural standards are acceptable, or not.

Rightly or wrongly there is much furore about Wallace running into a room wearing nowt but a sock which is deemed uncceptable...

Yet we have the likes of Gino De whatsisname prancing around bollock naked on roadtrips wi fred and Gordon.. Jimmy Carr is a regular on TV but his stage shows contain some outrageous stuff but thats all ok, for now. Benny hill is openly lauded as a comedy genius but his sketches make Gregg Wallace look like an outright feminist..

If they are going to apply behaviour and morality standards then they must be universal and applied evenly.

I agree that there is no smoke without fire with this wallace thing , but Im not seeing hard and fast proof, lots of allegations some with a large dollop of heresay, but no solid proof. where are the vids, where are the voice recordings? in the last 20 years there must be some recordings somewhere?

As a sidenote Im putting money on Masterchef changing hands and ending up on Sky.. Murdoch and his empire make and break governments so why not break a presenter to buy a moneymaking TV franchise at bottom dollar.

Quite agree. But when standards and morals change ( no more Benny Hill or wolf whistles ) over time it can be hard for the BBC etc. to keep up.
Not saying they shouldn't have been doing more. Heaven knows they've had enough time, my £££ and examples of bad behaviour within the Corp.

Benny Hill was on TV donkeys years ago (and wasn't funny then) and his stuff wouldn't be shown now, and isn't repeated afaik. Jimmy Carr has to adapt his persona and material for tv.

Plus, there's a difference between shock humour and behaviour that is about a guy getting his own kicks in a workplace situation by making women feel very uncomfortable. Behaviour that is completely out of sync with the times, everyone knows it's out of order, people just don't seem to know how to deal with it or manage it, when it happens.

Management needs to respond to complaints and deal with them when they happen, to avoid a situation like this. Trial by media has only occurred because of management failings. I imagine GW has become bolder over time because nobody dealt with it effectively.

Not saying you are wrong but I have concerns that in this day and age there has been no proof offered and all seems to be historic allegations or 3rd hand as I say happy to retract this once the investigations ordered by the production company have concluded.

All I am saying in in the last 20 years how many scandals or expose have you seen or heard that do not feature a sound clip, video clip, screen shot or picture from a mobile? This seems to be missing this case, or so it would seem, on the other hand the press are normally careful what they say to avoid legal repercussions so there may be something we have not seen..

Either way trail by media is toxic and will prejudice any legal proceedings if it goes that way.

There were 13 allegations a few days ago and more coming forward, including Sir Rod Stewart and Kirsty Wark. In front of a jury he'd be in trouble, if he had/has commited a criminal offence. It's not one person's word against another's, it's lots of people. I doubt anybody wants a him hung drawn and quartered, but it's reasonable to flag up bad behaviour and ask why nothing has been done about it. He no doubt sails close to the wind, not really assaulting anybody but he seems to get off on a sort of sexual intimidation that shouldn't happen at work. Or anywhere else for that matter. IMHO.

I don't recall any videos or photos of Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby and other high profile cases. I may be wrong and have missed them, but just have never seen or heard of any. Coincidentally in Weinstein's case, the initial accusations came from 12 women.
