Butcombe clone reciope in Brewfather

Folks. I have been trawling for a Butcombe Bitter Clone, I can only found one recipe in Brewfather.

Has anyone tried that recipe that can say how it compares to Somersets finest pint?

Doesn’t Graham Wheeler have a recipe for Butcombe bitter.

I nearly drowned and ended up with memory issues. jeezo I had forgotten about that, How come it didnt come up on my forum search..

Just done a search of my old posts and found one where I picked up a fresh bag of MO from Warminster maltings for £28.50 , same stuff is now £48.50 at TMM

I used to buy Tucker malt directly from their maltings in Newton Abbot until it closed. They still sell malt from there warehouse in Crediton Devon. It’s Warminster malt and crushed Maris Otter is £30.25 for 25kg.

It think that says more about TMM. I am certainly not paying almost double.

hasnt really gone up that much considering my old post was 2008

When I asked last year Warminster were asking for £42/sack collected for pale ale. I expect MO may be more so the MM price doesn’t look so bad. I could do with testing their MO and Utipian pils malt before getting sackfuls though.

Not a generic product though is it? It has its own more traditional process and for me it is local ie could be barley from fields I ride through, that has value.

Buy it from Tuckers in Crediton only a couple of hours from Salisbury

Maltingsfest is the 10-12 April 2025. I’ve never been but fancy going next year, bus from Brixham to NA then a taxi home because of my bladder
