Think I might have dialled back on the cloves a bit as it can make it taste a bit medicinal otherwise.
I also had a bottle of caramel sugar syrup lying around that was a bit past its sell by so that got lobbed in to bump the ABV.
I didn't sweeten it, it went straight into a keg for force priming. To add sweetness later I got a bottle of Monin Winter Spice syrup and I added a glug of the when serving. Turned out well and I enjoyed it over the festive period.
