Hi all
Just to say I love the drink vimto.
So I was just wondering if there is a recipe on how you would make it.
I have a DJ empty so thought I would ask on here if anyone as tried and tested recipe.

P.S
vimto into wine not the drink

Hi, if you use the search function you'll find a few threads on this subject. The general consensus seems to be that due to the preservatives in Vimto it isn't really practical to use for wine.

There does seem to be a few Vimto cider threads out there, so maybe check those out?

Dissolve 1100g of sugar in a saucepan of water and get it to 25c pour it into a sanitised DJ add -

1 x teaspoon of wine yeast

1 x teaspoon of yeast nutrient

Put airlock on and wait until its finished fermenting 9 days (ish)

Hydrometer reading .995 - .990

Bottle it in PET spring water bottles and add Vimto to each bottle until its to your liking.

As has been said (and i have witnessed first hand) preservative in Vimto and Ribena can cause fermentation to fail early so this is a better way to do it

Vimto is the cordial of the gods.
While I had no trouble with the boys, I had to wean the girlchild off dodgy alcopops and Reckorderlig cider and onto real ale with great difficulty. Vimto saved the day and I gave her my grandad's silver hip-flask filled with Vimto (the one you have to dilute) and she'd happily come to a beer festival and and pour a shot into each beer. Now you might ask yourself why we were not summarily smitten by the gods for such sacrilege, but when you consider what she was drinking before!!!
Regrettably, she's a ricidivist and has since eschewed all alcohol and turned vegan. Even the cat's vegan. I despair. Where did I go wrong as a father? An abject (or abstract if you're Angelic) failure. aheadbutt

Phase.

My youngest went through a vegan stage during which her favourite meal was home made pheasant pie :laugh8:
