Too much water in mash.

Brewing now. Full volume mash. Should have been 48l but I mashed with 54l (mis-read the total volume including grain).

Aiming for 42l in fermenter. 9.2 kg grain bill.1.049 target OG.

Should I do a 90 min boil instead of the 60 mins planned to reduce the volume? Might help lose another 1.5l?

I guess it will be a weaker beer. I could up the hopping I suppose?

Estimate where 42 litres is in your boiler and boil until you reach that level.

You might have to adjust your hop timings to allow for the longer boil. Depends how long it takes to boil off the extra 6 litres. Depends on your recipe.

Or add DME to the boil to raise the OG.

Did a 90 min boil. Ended up with 43L at 1.050.
I think I need so more gas!
