I got a stint on day shifts only. Doing shift days the last 2 month's. Some difference to My body clock and sleep pattern
I’m cherry beered out now so it’s time for another beer and I’m serving it in another glass, this one a Belgian beer glass.
Just kegged this pale ale, I have a shed load off progress hops I got for a song, so crisp pale ale malt hops at 60 and 15 I upped the additions for this one 30g at 60 and 45 at 15 it tastes really good

I really love a sour beer but I have to admit to being used to fruited sour beers. This Face Off from @dad_of_jon is something a bit different and I’m enjoying the difference. Fruity edgy aroma, lactic with something of the natural yoghurt about it. Colour though is sunshine tropics, no head as such but a lovely light carbonation. To flavour this is a light sour but proper beer, not fruity other than the edgy fruity aromas. This is a clever beer, on that edge of bacterial and yeast fermentation - I like it lots
When really young it was capable of turning your face inside out. Nowadays it's considering a pipe and slippers. I've not had one for a while but probably in tart and apple-y territory.

Off to Salisbury for a week of unbridled real ale drinking and curry eating after an absence of 6 years. I've taken out a mortgage so I can afford to go to the pub and I've replaced the car tyres with tank tracks against all the pot-holes I've heard about. Anything else I need to be aware of?
Looking forward to catching up on the beer scene (and avoiding the Novichok)

It looks to be wet which is typical Salisbury weather! SIPs can be heaving on the popular evenings. Slightly obscure Duke of York is CAMRA city pub of the year

Rude Giant has a taproom cum beer hall, I haven’t been yet.
Dark Revolution are mid move into a new unit. Think taproom still open in the old.
Locally- it’s the last weekend of the Wadworth taproom in Devizes as they move to their new unit away from the historic brewery.
Best bitter in a Speckled Hen glass that I know was in a beer gift pack.

Interesting story behind this bottle, it was given to a retiring RAF pilot by his squadron mates, but He didn't have the heart to tell them he doesn't like whisky.
So it's sat in his drinks cabinet for the last 21 years unopened and still in the tube!
Cue his daughter clearing out some of his stuff in preparation for him downsizing to a smaller house and coming across said bottle and asking why he's kept it. So he tells the story and gives it to his daughter.
She hates the stuff, but knows I love it and it appeared by magic at my house this morning!
It's going to have a good home here and be well appreciated.
So does this make it a Laphroaig 31 yo whisky?
Edited to add - a bit on internet sleuthing seems to suggest this label style appeared in 2004, so it's a max of 20 years old....

Keg-conditioned Poes Boston Bitter, if it was an American who came up with this recipe he has done very well. A well-balanced Ordinary Bitter. Drink this till the cows come home.
Great head and good lacing, a magnificent ordinary bitter.
Another satisfying beer, a pale ale, Nancy Naylor Landlady, great aftertaste of Styrian Goldings. Delicious beer.

Unfortunately your whiskey is still only 10 years old. It's the years in the barrel that give its age and value if unopened plus small runs,blends or closed distilleries.
