My little fridge, bless it, is working it's socks off and is maintaining my lager at exactly 2c. I'm happy with that.

I'm thinking 4 weeks before bottling, would this be a sufficient amount of time?
 
A lot depends on the style/abv you are brewing. I try to leave it for 8-12 weeks. 6-8 is probably a good middle of the road. In the end, it will depend on your tastes. I've had lagers that I've rushed. I've found that they started to taste better weeks down the road. It's something I think you'll just have to experiment with and find your middle ground and what works for you.
