I made up the youngs country definitive strawberry wine kit as per the instructions and have had it sat in a water bath at 21ºc for about 30 hours and there is still now bubbles in the air lock the top is still frothy though. Do I just need to be patient or do you think something has gone wrong?

By now you should be seeing lots of action, I have made 30 or more of these kits, they make great wine. You should see thousands of tiny bubbles in the wine by now. If not yes something is wrong. Re read the instructions and confirm you've done it correctly and check your temperature. If all is ok then it looks like your yeast was a dud. Just buy some more wine yeast and nutrient and throw it in, it won't harm anything.

The top of the wine is frothy still so im thinking my FV cap might be leaking air or the fermentation is just slow. I have to top the water up tonight so ill have a good look at the cap then. Temp is definitely at 21ºc. This is my first wine done a couple of beers so im a little out my comfort zone. Sure ill be all over it with the next batch

Im using a plastic water bottle looking thing that came with the solomon grundy starter kit for making 6 bottle wine kits.
When I went to top the wine up all signs of fermentation had stopped and the wine just looked flat I took a gravity reading and it was 1.062 to me that says that no fermentation has occurred so i think the yeast may have been a dud. I had a second pack of yeast in a different wine kit so I added that and gave it a good shake and after 2 hours it was bubbling away nicely.

Nice one, I'm wondering how old the kit was. I've got a couple of out of date strawberry kits and I have to get more yeast. I'm not sure but I think they've stop making it.
I shouldn't think you'll have many more problems but if you've added the extra water I not sure if you'll get full fermentation but it will come out nice, they always do.

Yeah im confident ill produce something drinkable. Ill take another gravity reading once its finished fermenting and see what abv it comes out at I believe they are supposed to be about 11% with a FG of about .992
Thanks for you advice
