I've only ever brewed their “Definitive Bitter”, think I may have boosted it with 500g of spraymalt. It was drinkable .... but nothing special.

The Brewbuddy and Winebuddy starter sets seem worthwhile, but I regard their kits as ‘entry level’, and then you move on to something better.

I have brewed a Wherry and a Nelsons Revenge up to now but wondered if these much cheaper kits were worth it?

youngs definative bitter is ok. given it is the cheepest kit you can get its not bad.

it was the kit i started with and did lots. i tried all the single can kits i could get from local wilcos and local home brew shop. my prefered is geordie.

i have brewed a few youngs recently. it has a slightly fruity flavour i dont get from geordie.

i am considering trying two youngs cans in a five gal brew but it might cost the same as a premium 2can kit.

give youngs a go. its a good kit to use if you are going to experiment with ingredients or technique.

I just thought i'd possibly give one a go due to their very cheap price but think i'll stick to the 2 can kit until i go AG, just thought they may have been worth a go but no point in brewing something that would be far inferior to the 2 i've done already.

Thanks guys,

Andy
