Just had my first pint of this after waiting a month.

Cracking pint ,massive ,tight head, clung all the way down the glass, still there half hour later ,more like Murphys than Guinness.

Well pleased ,didnt even use brewing sugar.

This was a cheap kit from Tescos, £9 I think. Well in.

Sounds great. Hows the hambilton bards old English? Just started one of those! How did you add the treacle? And how much? :)

When I first tasted it I was a bit disappointed ,sweet and a bit of a harsh after taste, kept going back to it every couple of weeks and saw a vast improvement. Just had one now and well pleased.
Like a darker Newky brown ,just a hint of sweetness . Good long head, the harshness has smoothed out ,so well happy.

With the treacle I just added a full tin at the start and rinsed it out with hot water ,also used brewing sugar instead of tate and lyle.

I am finding the longer I leave the beer conditioning the better ,its one of the best tips i,ve had on here.

Cheers ,Spud.

THis was my first ever HB kit. Now after 20 or so AGs I still slip one in once or twice a year. This is definatley one of my favourites and as you said less that a tenner, you cant go wrong.
