HI just need a quick bit of advice, Ive just had a youngs 25ltr ltr plastic keg handed down to me and it has as far as I can tell a s30 valve on the 2" cap (it is too big a valve for the small co2 bulbs sold in wilkos).
Can I use this without gas as just a normal keg?, is it pressure release as well? and will I encounter any problems?
Thanks in advance for any help.

You should be OK to use as a normal keg, though check the seals are all good. I think the wilko's ones will fit, but don't take my word on it, better check further to be sure. I'm sure you will be able to get one to fit if not.

cheers for the help just one last question.
If I prime the keg to carbonate it, will it be carbonated or will the pressure needed go out of the pressure relese?

Thanks again for the help Il give it a go with priming until I get some gas

You have to prime them to carbonate them don't you.
The plastic barels cant hold the required pressure for force carbonation i don't think! :wha:

I'd agree with that, though you might be able to ad a bit of fizzz!

Don't forget that there is always the chance that once about 1/2 the barrel has been drunk, the pressure will have depleted and the co2 will have diminished. This is fine, provided no oxygen gets in, but if the flow stops and air bubbles back through the tap, you're going to get oxidisation. A squirt of CO2 before this happens will help keep things slightly pressurised and co2 coated!
