I have used the GW beer engine to help me with this. It's a simple recipe for two reasons. 1. To try and educate myself on basic flavours and 2. A cheap grain bill (hops i already have) to keep costs down.

Goldings 50g @ 90
Goldings 20g @ 30
Goldings 15g @ 15

43 EBU
OG 1051 FG 10012 ABV 5.1


It will only be my 4th AG brew and not sure if this will be ok
Thoughts and comments most welcome.

Guinness is a very special beer when it comes to the head, its one of the only beers you can sell with 1/3pint of head on it in a pint pot, cos the head will eventually settle to the same level of beer + head in the glass bitter won't the head will knock back.

Try it if you don't believe me.

Not if you use an oversized lined glass. Mind you I would always prefer a short pint with a decent head to a full pint with no head.

Brewed said beer today with the kids help. Lost heaps to the boil. Other than that, it all went well. Again i must thank all contributors to this site for asking and answering questions. :thumb:
