Hello im harvesting a yeast from a Punk IPA of brewdog at the moment, I've added a half bottle of water and a spoon of sugar and kept it at about 20 degrees, its starting to work but I wondered if there is anything else I can do to help the yeast grow up to be big and strong? :)

Don't use sugar you need to use some malt extract. Basically make up a small amount to begin with an OG of about 1.030, use about 150ml, once this has stopped bubbling, let it settle pour off the spent wort, and start again with 300ml and keep on repeating until you have a couple of litres, this then should be enough to pitch into 5 gallons.

I don't know if there's enough yeast in Punk IPA to harvest...it's not bottle conditioned but they do claim that their "light filtration process" leaves some yeast.
You'd be much better off using malt extract instead of sugar - using sugar will get your yeast used to metabolising sugar and it'll then struggle to ferment malt sugars during a proper ferment.

if for some reason you don't have any spare wort available...better to make a mix of spray malt and boiled water to a gravity of 1035-1040
