I'm brewing on Saturday, after a bit of deliberation. I'm going to brew a Palmers IPA clone, 19l which is moslty pale malt, a tiny bit of roasted barley and hopped with Fuggles and Goldings.

I have 2 bottles of Oatmeal Stout which i took from the bottom of the FV, each with with a good 1/2 cm of Whitelabs Irish Ale WLP004 yeast in the bottom of the bottle.

Could I use one/both of these to make a starter today in time for Saturday? Or am I going to have to use Safale 05?

Woohoo! AG Brewday number 2!!

Cheers. It's actually SO4 I have, having checked my brewing box  Still, probably still best eh?

Whitelabs webby says about WLP004 "makes a very interesting IPA" which probably means too much diacetyl
