I've had a lot of communication with Ray Ashworth (The founder of Woodfordes) He's a really nice chap, and is now a brewing consultant with the Fat Cat brewery in Norwich. When he started Woodfordes it was 2.5BBL and one of 3 microbreweries in East Anglia. . . . . . When he sold it it was 70BBL and there were 265 Micros!!

Aleman, a BBL. What is?

Thanks.

Also, does anyone know how many commercial breweries there are in the UK at the moment? Are we outdoing the Belgians yet?

BBL is an abbreviation for Brewers Barrel which is a measure of volume equal to 36 Gallons or approximately 160 litres :thumb:
It is also used to describe the theoretical output of the brewery ;)

711 at publication of the 2010 GBG. Probably a couple more now.
