Hi.
Just got three Whitelabs yeasts from Hop and Grape. I made a Deuchars IPA clone and used some of the cooled wort to start the WLP028 Edinburgh Ale Yeast. No real signs of activity but liquid yeast is new to me and i followed H&G's advice on using the yeast properly so into the 23L of wort it went. 12 hours later - no sign of activity.... no tiny erruptions at the bottom, no bubbles breaking the surface at the top and no movement on the airlock.
On the vial it expires 28th Feb so its within its use by date and its kept in the fridge at H&G and used within hours of purchase having been acclimatised.
My fermenter is at 22c/72f which i believe is good to get the yeast going before dropping to 20c.
Any thoughts?

Cheers. :?

Some of these can be very slow to get going due to the number of cells, I'd give it a few days before making a decision, I was going to use a 5 ltr starter from wyeast 1099 but it failled to get going enough in time fror pitching, that was 4 days old and held at 22 deg exactly. I am going off luiqid yeasts very quickly, dried is so much more easy, I'm going to keep some slurry from the US-05, figure out how to preserve and all about acid washing and stick with it.

I made my WLP400 up in a 2 litre starter then pitched it two days later. It took about 12 hours to see a head on the wort and the bubbler didn't seem to bubble but the next morning around 20 hours after pitching it had blown out the bubbler. Temp was around the 20c mark.
Does the label say anything about the OG and maybe having to use a starter?
