Does anyone know if the Brakspear tripple drop bottled conditioned beer has the primary strain if so is it Burton Yeast. After 2 failed attempts, ive got movement in a small starter..Anyone used it? if so what does it ferment like? Does it clear well?

I asked what yeast they use in brakspear at wytchwood and they wouldn't tell me, if you visit though the yeast strain codes are on a whiteboard outside the fermenting room. Unfortunately I didn't make a note of the codes!

I've used WLP023 many times, its my go to yeast at the moment - no idea if that's what you have in the bottle though :wha:

Tends to ferment BIG, but makes it nice and easy to top crop.
It can be a pain to clear - cooling works pretty well though :thumb:

IMHO a great yeast

Thanks hawks,
Ive got up this morning and its climbing up the wall of the jam jar about 1/2 inch...about the same volume of krausen as wort...Big ferment..might be the same strain...

I've got Hopback yeast in a similar jar. That is just trundling with a lacing as yet...fingers crossed, I'll get them both on slants for storage
