Hi
Might sound a silly question but i best double check to be safe.
Can i re-use finished off wine bottles (sterilised of course) to put my Stout in,I got one brew in a barrel and my next batch is going in used 2lt plastic pop bottles which ive used before in the past with no probs, and some in used 500ml beer bottles,i dont quite have enough but do have empty scew top wine bottles and wondered if they be ok to use.

Nope, sorry...

...even if the glass manages to take the pressure the caps won't. Save yourself the mess and get some ale or cider bottles (or some more placky ones of course...)

No :nono:

You can use any bottle which has previously held any sort of fizzy drink, but ordinary wine bottles are not designed to withstand any pressure.

Great,Cheers for that guys,I thought i better check first,i sort of had an idea they be no good,oh well, ill have to get the mrs to drink more coke lol
:hat:
