just wondering if anyone has tried this and how its turned out? a tenner with free brewing sugar seems too good to turn down

cheers

I've got this in the fermenter now, almost ready to bottle.
The samples I've taken for hydro readings suggest it will be worth the £10 investment, but not massively interesting!

I'm using this as a basis for a crimbo brew. Have got the brew in the FV at the moment, am going to rack shortly into a secondary FV and add some crimbo spices (cinnamon, cloves etc), week in there to infuse then into the keg.

I've brewed short to 18L to help give a stronger flavour, so we'll see what happens!

I had my first taste of this today, after three weeks in the fermenter.
It's a very decent beer, but not quite what it says on the tin... It's more of a summer ale - pale, with a gentle hoppy flavour, and not too much bitterness.

I brewed it to 20 litres with a not-quite whole bag of brewing sugar. I would certainly brew this one again.

Bottled in old lemonade bottles using tops donated by the lovely jimp2003, cheers Jim mate!
Bottled it on Tuesday, 16 day ferment, probably due to the cold weather, although it foamed like fook!

Lovely colour and aroma, back on shore on the 23rd when I will post a taste report................

I was very impressed with the taste when I racked into the secondary FV ahead of adding my christmas spices. As has been mentioned, more a light ale but definatly something I could drink a lot of!

I was given this with a kilo of brewing sugar today for Christmas. I think I'll brew it to 20 litres like the others above 3 weeks for a half decent beer isn't to be sniffed at. At least it will cut two weeks off the 5 I'll have to wait for my Pilgrims Hope to mature.

Ordered this on Boxing Day and got 20% off my order. Had this delivered today along with a Tom Caxton bitter and Wilko pilsner with 2 packs of med dme and a kilo of dex. Will probably put this on after a Coopers Stout I've been planning.

Let me know how you get on brewing short to 20l. Sounds like this make a better pint.

Cheers.

Jim
