Made a partial mash the other day, a small situation arose - I used 10g of black malt instead of 100g. As I didn't have time to mash, I dropped the other 90g in some 66c water for 5 mins and added it to the boil about 10 mins before the end, figuring it would be fine as black malt is there for colour and flavour rather than sugar content, and the quick flash in the boil would have boiled out the hot break again.

Any potential issues here?

Not really, if anything maybe 2/3 of that amount added earlier in the boil would have been better, but should be no issues. Some stout brews actually have the darkening roasted malts added in the boil rather than the mash, Guinness being one.
