Hi everyone hopefully someone can assist here, I have heard about whirlpool additions for hops but i am a bit mystified by the term. My belief is that at the end of the boil, the wort is stirred to create whirlpool and then hops added and left for say 10 mins. Is this correct? Now my problem is that i no chill and what i do is leave wort after stirring at he end of boil until temp drops to approx 80C and then drain into my cube and add late addition/whirlpool hops is this the same method. Hope I have explained it correctly.

A hop stand does the same job as whirlpool additions, only without whirlpooling.

It's adding them in at the end of the boil (flameout) then leaving them for a bit. A lot of people, myself included, bring the wort down to 80C first then chuck the hops in for 15 or 20 minutes before chilling. I guess you could do the same, but leave them a bit longer then drain to the no chill cube.
