I'm putting the great eastern on tomorrow but as Hubby like high strenght beer what will get me the best, I would also like nice taste, drinkable out come.

do I use the yeast in the kit or do I use the spare packet of S04 that I have in my stash. If the s04 do I mix it with the yeast food, sugar and water or just sprinkle it on top of the mix.

I do alot of Woodfordes kits i always use the kit yeast and i do as Mark said just sprinkle on top. It's a pretty average strength kit so it won't be super strong unless you add loads of sugar which is a bad idea and will make it taste rough  If you want a really strong one try the HeadCracker kit :drunk:
The Great Eastern is a great pint though, just finished my keg of that

I might treat Hubby to the Headcracker if I can get it done in time for christmas. Thanks for advice, I will use the kit yeast an I would like a nice drinkable beer and I don't want it tasting rough.
