I am partial to the odd ale but tbh I really mainly drink strong continental lagers like Peroni, Kronenbourg, and my new favourite Furstenberg.

I guess I'm gonna get nowhere near the quality of these but was wondering what folk would recommend for a beer of this style? Liked the sound of the Better Brew Czech Pils but the reviews vary massively...

Thanks in advance.

in kit form I have yet to find a decent lager type. Lagers are not easy and the kits do not seem to come close in my opinion.
As a new brewer I would try a few English type ales, ipa's etc or even stouts as they seem a lot more forgiving and success and enjoyment is well within the capabilities of a new brewer

The Coopers Euro lager kit is quite good - brew with ordinary sugar or BKE - comes supplied with a lager yeast and comes out pretty good if you are able to maintain lower temps whilst fermenting (5-10c is ok).

Hmmm some food for thought. Wonder what temps my attic will be like. Quite like the sound of the pale ale tho...
