Used Coopers Drops to prime my Wherry and has been conditioning for 2 weeks in the warm but thought I'd try one before moving.
On opening not much of a pst and when I poured no head but lots and lots of sediment at the bottom. So much so that I had to leave 3/4 inch in the bottle.
Anybody had problems with the drops or similar experience?
When I had a gulp during bottling I really thought this was going to be a good pint but now I'm not so sure!!! :-(

My first Wherry threw a lot of sediment, but the yeast will compact a bit with time.

The advice on leaving it a couple of months in the bottle is spot on for mine. It's great beer, but takes a bit of time.

If you do it again, racking after 2-3 weeks in the FV will help its clarity and it won't need many days before bottling.

Thanks,
I was intending on leaving for 4 weeks minimum in the cool but thought I'd try one. Obviously a mistake especially after reading all the good reviews.

I racked mine into a 2nd fv after 10 days, left for 5 days, batched primed and then bottled. It was in warm for 10 days and cleared after 5 days. Now conditioning although will be trying another tonight....will take a PIC if I remember.

How big are your bottles? A mate of mine uses 2l pop bottles and I did too for my first brew. Find it does not settle as well / quickly at all. If it's 500m bottles then you should not have a carb problem if they have been inside at around 18-20 for 2 weeks, that's how long I leave to carb anyway... If your temp was lower than that, then that could be the problem. Keep em in a warm place and they will carb mate. Also, if you use at least one plastic bottle it's really easy to squeeze and gauge how they are getting on. Once it's carb'd, leave in the cold for a week or two and the sediment will get compact and your pour will come out clean if done with a single slow motion. Good luck.... :-)

Mine didn't seem to throw off a lot of sediment or take any more than 2 weeks to carb.

This was with 500ml bottles and priming sugar dissolved into the bottling bucket rather than carbonation drops.

Is there a chance the carb drops have just sunk to the bottom and not been eaten by the yeast? If so you might want to shake them up a little to get things going again. If there's a sweet taste then the drops have dissolved but not fermented and you should just give it more time in the warm.
