Im new to brewing beer so wanted to check i will have all the equipment if i buy say a wherry real ale kit...do i just need a fermenting bucket and a pressure barrell??

I did a Wherry kit for my first kit. I'm sure it was not as good as it could have been because I did not have the knowledge I have acquired now over time and experience. You have everything there apart from what was mentioned above.

My Wherry always came out of the barrel I tithe glass as a load of foam and not much actual liquid. I now know that this was because the pressure was too much inside it. Silly little mistake. I will do that kit again one day as it is very nice when conditioned for a few months :)

Is add some sanitiser, a long plastic spoon and, most importantly, a thermometer.

ok so got everything except pressure barrel and long plastic spoon at the minute but will purchase them soon.
What temp does it need to be kept at??? and did i see you can get led thermometer on some pressure barrels??

when fermenting 18-21C.

I like my glass therm. I've heard the stick on thermometer strips can be unreliable

ok i have a glass thermometer as well so now just need to purchase a pressure barrell and get started!!
