Well, I pushed the credit card boat out and bought myself a pair of cornies off eBay, now I've got them I see why the seller said they may need a new seal kit, or similar... :(

One of the two kegs has the type of lid with the retaining straps spot welded onto it, one of the spot welds has sprung loose, so the lid wont seal :(

Looking on the internet I can only see the other type of lid, with sold metal uprights far more securely welded to the lid, availble from the US, with £26+ for postage. The one UK vendor advertising what I believe is the better lid does not appear to have any in stock.

I checked CanDirect, after finding them on here via search, and the lids they are advertising does not appear to have a pressure release valve :(

So, oh reverred corny users, where do I get a 'good' replacement lid from?

I don't have access to the kit to redo the spot weld, so that's a non-starter :(

Hop and Grape do all the seals, new posts lids etc
in fact everything but the kegs, they aren't in stock

Thanks.

Good job I paid some attention to French in School though, or did I miss the option for viewing the site in English?

Still pricey at £37, but I think it will out last the spot weld variety enough to have been worth it.
How much is he charging for postage? BTW there is no english version but he does speak English.

Just got one from norm on eBay £25 free pp or hope and grape do them for £20 +£5 pp
Don't pay £37 well expensive

The ones from Norm are the spot weld type, as are the ones shown on the home brew shop website and hop and grape :(

From experience in other areas of manufacturing I'm not a huge fan of small spot welds, they tend to fail more often than you'd like, as has been the case with the lid on the keg I bought.

I have ordered the one from France, postage and tax were the killers, almost doubled the price of the lid, but it is the type I want so...

If you ever want anything from this site in the future PM me and I will see if there is anything that I can do to reduce the cost. I live fairly near to him and am a good customer.
