When yeast goes mad..

First time trying a yeast from my local micro, picked it up on brewday and pitched it 5 hours later... As expected it went off like a rocket - and then on the evening of day 2 things grew a little bigger...

Took the lid off to find this

So I skimmed a load off ( still leaving a healthy krausen ) and popped it in the fridge :thumb:

Hoping its a nice yeast as I have easy access to it :

Hmm - seem to be having problems with flickr for the photos... Will edit once I find the reason

Wow that is a good krusen! What beer/yeast is your local brewer doing?

I regret not asking for some yeast when we went round the Theakston brewery! They had plenty.....

The problem is Flickr doesn't allow image tagging for thing like the forum, you need something else or just post the Address if you wish people to navigate to them.

Cheers MD - I'll look at moving over to photobucket or some such...

Not sure what yeast it is - he keeps it a secret of which brewery he gets it from ( they asked him not to tell ). It is very stable though apparently and can go many many generations with little / no looking after :thumb:

Here they are, i chose the 800 size...flicker allows easy access to pictures....any uploader just needs to click the view all sizes...choose the size he wishes to use...right click that and choose view image...the jpg link will then be there to copy into our forum img viewer....saves anyone messing around... :thumb:
